Materials Used in Solar Cells

  1. Silicon:

This is the primary material used in the production of thin-film solar cells (crystalline silicon solar cells), available in both polycrystalline silicon and monocrystalline silicon forms. Silicon is the most commonly used material in the current solar cell industry.

  2. Materials for Solar Cell Production:

This includes elements such as tellurium, selenium, and iron, among others.

  3. Encapsulation Materials:

These include materials like the backsheet, which acts as an insulator and provides protection from mechanical stress.

  4. Structural Support Materials:

These include materials like the roof glass and photovoltaic cells that serve as structural components.
