Lifespan of solar cells

Updated: Mar 17

solar cells

The lifespan of solar cells generally ranges from 25 to 30 years, depending on the quality of the cells and the environmental conditions in which they are installed.

  • Initially: Solar cells operate at their peak efficiency.

  • Over time: Efficiency may decrease slightly each year. Typically, solar cells will continue to operate at about 80% of their original efficiency after 25 years.

Additionally, proper maintenance and correct installation can significantly extend the lifespan of solar cells.
